Hi, I’m Tiffany O’Toole (she/her) and I’ve been working in the mental health field for 15 years. My educational background includes a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Kutztown University and a master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from Marywood University.

Currently, I hold licenses in the following states:

-North Carolina (Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor #9345)

-Virginia (Licensed Professional Counselor #0701007259) where I am also credentialed as a clinical supervisor for provisional LPCs

-Florida (Registered Telehealth Provider #TPMC2154)

-California (Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor #LPCC11869)

Additionally, I have completed a 100-hour Trauma Sensitive Yoga Certification and am trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), an evidence based treatment for trauma and other mental health concerns.

Gizmo

He’s my 12 year old Yorkie. You may see him looking out the window on his bench behind me during sessions. He’s become an unofficial mascot and people often ask about him, so I figured he deserved an introduction and shout out on the website. I also love to see your animals during sessions as well!

My counseling approach

My approach is a collaborative one. I do not have the answers to your problems, nor will I tell you what you should do with your life. You are the expert on yourself, your feelings, your relationships, etc. I bring the knowledge, skills and training as a mental health professional and together, we figure out a path forward for you which will decrease your emotional pain and help you live a more satisfying life.

I am flexible in my approach and will meet you where you are with regard to readiness for change, desired goals, etc. in order to make the best use of our time together. I encourage feedback from you throughout your treatment, as the most important indicator of a positive counseling outcome is the therapeutic relationship between counselor and client.

As a counselor, I believe it is part of my job to reduce the stigma surrounding counseling and highlight the strength it takes to seek help. I have been on the receiving end of counseling services and know that it takes courage to be willing to dive into your inner self and explore the darkest parts with which we’ve tried to disconnect. I am honored to join you on this journey.
