Military Community
Most of my professional experience has been working with Marine Corps (ooh-rah) and Navy service members and their spouses. I have worked as a counselor at Camp Lejeune, Quantico, and MCAS New River. I provided individual, marital and family therapy focused on life transitions, stressors unique to the military family, domestic violence, child abuse, sexual assault, depression, anxiety, and relationship concerns. In addition to my professional experience, I have five years of experience as a military spouse, which allows me to connect and understand the military community’s issues from both a personal and professional level.

I understand that it’s difficult to reach out for therapy when it’s still very stigmatized in the military community. There’s also the reality that it can impact security clearances, your ability to do your job, and go in your medical record, which follows your throughout your career. I’m happy to offer an alternative to using on base services or your health insurance so that there isn’t a paper trail that the military can access. When you self pay for therapy, your records stay with me and cannot be accessed by anyone without your explicit, signed permission. Please review FAQs and reach out to me if you’re interested in finding out more.

Your role as a military spouse is tough (is there a bigger understatement?!). You wear so many hats and usually don’t receive nearly enough support. I’ve been there, I can empathize. I love working with spouses to help empower you to better manage the stress, emotions and situations that come along with being married to the military.

Being sent overseas? No worries, we can still continue our sessions when you’re on federal land (such as a military base) in another country.
